Meet Lissa Melvin, MD
Dr. Lissa Melvin says she learned at an early age that the economically and socially disadvantaged are at the highest risk for poor health. She firmly believes every human being should have access to health care. She says she had life changing moments when she traveled to Haiti on medical missions with her family and as a medical student. She found it rewarding to know she had helped people even if it was only a few. She learned the importance of compassion, hard work and dedication from her mother who was a registered nurse for more than 30 years.
"I believe that women’s health is most important. Providing excellent care to pregnant women and all women has to be at the forefront of our drive in an effort to produce healthy children, families, and communities," she said.
