What are Clinical Trials?
Clinical trials are a type of clinical research in which patients can volunteer to participate. Clinical trials try to find better and new ways to prevent, detect or treat diseases. Clinical research is an integral part of the mission of CHRISTUS Health. We offer an array of comprehensive clinical trials that include prevention trials, early-detection trials, diagnostic trials, treatment trials and quality of life/supportive care trials. Our goal is to provide access to various clinical trials for our patients close to home by giving our patients access to the latest therapies
Informed Consent
Informed consent is the process of learning the key facts about a clinical trial before deciding whether or not to participate. It is also a continuing process throughout the study to provide information to participants. Informed consent includes details about the study such as purpose, duration, required procedures, key contacts, risks and benefits. The consent is not a contract, and the participant may withdraw at any time.
