Children's Mobile Clinic
Mobile Health Clinic for Children
CHRISTUS Health's mobile clinic ensures that all children receive essential services such as wellness exams, treatment for minor illnesses, and vaccinations in one convenient location. In addition, our mobile clinic provides EPSDT (Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment) as well as referrals to specialty care, education, assistance in applying for Medicaid and CHIP, and prescription assistance.
Every Child Deserves to Be Healthy
Children's Mobile ClinicOur mission is to serve the needs of children from uninsured/underinsured families who live in vulnerable communities across San Antonio. As a goal, we aim to establish medical homes for every child in the target area, reduce emergency room visits, increase immunization rates, and increase parents' knowledge of health topics.
Partnering With Local School Districts
Our mobile clinic is designed to ensure that children receive essential health services in one convenient location without leaving the school district or waiting for an appointment with a provider. We partner with Comal ISD for a School Based Health Clinic which features a mobile pediatric unit that travels to Comal ISD's Morningside and Startzville elementary schools twice monthly. While at the campuses, CHRISTUS Health staff offers preventative and minor acute health services to all Comal ISD students. A written parental/guardian consent is required for children before services can be administered in the School Based Health Clinic.
