As a nonprofit organization, we cannot exist, cannot reach our dreams or come close to fulfilling our mission without you. CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Foundation was established to encourage philanthropic support of healthcare services in our region. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3: 1
In 1965, a group of shaggy-haired young men encouraged the nation to “turn, turn, turn” and accept that change is inevitable and that there is a time for every purpose under heaven. The song, made famous by the musical group The Byrds, used lyrics that dated back more than 2,000 years, taken from Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8. The stanzas describe opposing actions: a time to be born, a time to die; a time to weep, a time to laugh; a time to mourn, a time to dance.
The verse so well describes the past year - a time for continual change. At some points it felt as if time were standing still, as we once again postponed gatherings, swinging from in-person to Zoom, longing for the end of the restrictive era and the return of normal. All along the way, we wished for more time with dear Foundation friends now lost to us, torn by conflicting desires to pause…rewind…and fast forward!
