Electrophysiology mapping is used to find the source of electrical problems within the heart. Electrophysiologists use advanced imaging and diagnostic catheter technology to create a 3-D "map" of electrical activity within the patient's heart. Once the source of an irregular heartbeat has been located it can be treated through ablation, ICD or medication.

When a patient has an appointment at the Heart Valve Center, they are seen by a cardiologist and cardiothoracic surgeon all in the initial visit. The cardiologist and cardiothoracic surgeon collaborate during the patient's appointment to determine their treatment plan and pathway. Typically these appointments occur over a 2-3 week time span, but at the Heart Valve Center, we ensure all of this happens the same day.

From education and prevention to diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation, we provided comprehensive cardiovascular services for adults and children with heart and vascular diseases. We offer prevention programs to help lower your risk of heart disease and screenings to help find heart conditions early.

With our comprehensive lung care services and treatment options, we help you manage acute and chronic respiratory and pulmonary disorders. Our Pulmonologists treat diseases of the lungs, airways and chest, including deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. 

Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a comprehensive program for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Our goal is to help patients improve their quality of life and reduce the severity of their symptoms. Each participant receives a plan tailored to their individual needs that includes exercise and educational components.

Pulmonary classes now available

Classes are held twice a week and consist of monitored exercise, educational presentations and group dialogue. To join the program, patients must be referred by their personal physician. All program exercise is supervised by a licensed respiratory therapist and participants are monitored before, during and after exercise to ensure patient safety.

Better Breathers Support Group

Better Breathers, a support group for patients with chronic respiratory disease, meets monthly. Physicians and other healthcare professionals speak on issues that impact the lives of respiratory patients dealing with chronic disease.

A physician referral is required to participate in a cardiac rehab program. And your cardiologist or primary care provider can best determine if and when you are ready to begin. You may be a candidate if you have experienced any of the following:

• Recent heart attack
• Angioplasty and/or stent
• Heart bypass
• Transplant
• Valve surgery
• Stable angina
• Chronic heart failure
