CHRISTUS Children's

Heart Center

The Children's Hospital of San Antonio

The Heart Center at CHRISTUS Children's provides comprehensive care to children with heart problems. Our integrated group of specialists bring together a multidisciplinary approach from many specialties to care for children with heart defects. Together, we strive to provide the best of care to all patients. We believe that the most successful approach is where all care providers within the program work together to achieve outstanding results. In doing so, the cardiology team, cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, pediatric perfusionists, neonatal and pediatric intensive care specialists and nurses throughout all of these groups work in concert to treat a child throughout hospitalization. Each of these groups have cardiac specialists who provide specialty care 24 hours a day.

Some of our specialized features include:

  • Dedicated Cardiac Surgery Operating Room with its own team of specialized nurses and assistants.
  • Dedicated Neonatal and Pediatric teams available 24 hours a day to transport critically ill newborns and children.
  • A Cardiac Cath Lab specially designed for children.
  • Specially trained cardiac teams in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

If this is a medical emergency, please dial 911

Note: A representative from The Children's Hospital of San Antonio will contact you via a phone call between 8:30am and 5:00pm CDT to help you schedule an appointment.
